For Amber Blanding, the current administrator of the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, the Lamp Pole Project is a sybiotic opportunity to commemorate her later father while supporting emerging artists. The project resonates with Blanding on a physical and emotional level, as Doug Blanding was a linesman for Niagra Mohawk for 25 years. He was always tinkering in his shop, devising innovations to keep workers safe.

The current installation at the Art Park is composed of tripods, which are the most stable self-supporting structure. Additionally, the poles are swathed with a brilliant 15 foot tall flag, which stands out in the distance. These features add to the structurally sound, safe and innovative aesthetic the installation imparts.
